As this has now arisen twice, it's time to mention it here:

This is an English-language Forum.

All posts in public areas of the Forum should be in English, if they are from people with basic English or better.

You are welcome to post in any other language as long as you provide an English translation for the benefit of others.

The purpose of this is to ensure, as far as possible, that no-one is excluded and that people are not having private conversations that others cannot follow.

If you want to converse with another member in another language, then please use the Private Messages or set up a private room in the Chat system.

Of course we will do our best to welcome and help members who do not have basic English. If such members post in their own language I hope that someone here will help with translation. Unfortunately I doubt that translation software is yet good enough to cope with our particular needs, but it might be worth a try with Babelfish or similar.

I should be happy to receive translations of that last paragraph into Japanese and whatever other languages members may be able to help with. Given enough versions, I'll give it a prominent place here and on the website. Unfortunately, being a typical Englishman, my command of other languages barely, and rarely, reaches the most basic tourist level.
