Any bondage-related subject is on-topic here. Other subjects may well be as long as they're interesting.

Be polite and stay somewhere near the point.

If you want to go away from the point, consider starting a new topic.

If a discussion is starting to get personal and/or unpleasant (i.e. other people might not want to read it), consider moving it to the "NO HOLDS BARRED" forum, where all discussion is un-moderated except for issues with the law of the land. You can flame away as much as you like there - within the law and as long as it's something to do with bondage - and nobody will stop you.

RE: Guidelines
We reserve the right to post scathing and sarcastic comments on any deserving thread, e.g:
  • Overly tedious engineering analysis of kit that is obviously up to the job, e.g. climbing equipment
  • Theories upon which you will not accept peer review
  • Safety nazism
  • False prophets
  • Umm..bullshitters

I think that about covers it. Obviously, in the general spirit of things, we grant reciprocal rights.

PS harper said "be polite". I don't know what he was thinking!? Speak your mind but please try to not to bear a grudge when others do. Think of this as a bar, not vicar's tea party.

RE: Guidelines
Hi Admin,
This is NOT a complaint, just a polite request to remove the exclamation mark ! added to my date of birth. I think most forumers can do the arithmetic.

Also, it's no fun being 79. Practically all my friends are dead, I have the usual aches & pains, but worst is that I have to limit my physical activity. So no rigging except for seated subs with others present (for safety). No driving licence, surrendered voluntarily, so taxis and public transport is how I get to clubs - very, very long and tiring, dangerous when carrying my camera gear throiugh crime zones like *** and ****

However I still manage to handle all-night events like TG at Colosseum 3 weeks ago and EGO's Unbound last Friday (where she again put me in a massive 2-hour, untidy but very enjoyable rig), and I'm probably getting my usual Press Pass for Erotica and Xpo etc if I'm still alive in October/November: believe me that is NOT a joke.

So again, this is not a complaint so please don't apologise or feel guilty or anything. I'm thoroughly enjoying this forum and I'm grateful to all who thought of it and put it into being. Thanks, and please register this whole message as a "Thanks"

You are an inspiration to us. I hope I'm still keeping it as kinky in another quarter century or so. Mind you, some of these Japanese riggers are no spring chickens.

When I started Convolvulus - and I wish I'd done it a decade or three earlier - I promised myself that I'd work on it until I hit 65, and then I'd have a long hard think as to whether I'd got too old to carry on. Just a bit over four years to go...

Another big concern in the early days was whether, at my stage of life, I'd be able to relate to models in their late teens and twenties and not appear to them as simply a dirty old man who had found an excuse for a grope... and I'm happier than I can express to say that hasn't been a problem. All the models I've worked with - well, to be completely honest, all but one who was completely unprepared for what was going to happen - have been utterly wonderful.
Bondage, I firmly believe, attracts good people.

"...big concern,,,dirty old man..."
What do you mean? I am a DOM and I thoroughly enjoy it. In fact being obviously past it means sweet & lovely young ladies have no problems approaching me for shoots, rigs, advice, almost anything. Honestly, in all my life I've never before enjoyed having so many delectable damsels around me. Yes, they really do love good humour, they're great fun to play with (except when they say "you remind me of my grandad).

So, all you spring chickens, take heart. Being pervy remains with you, but your choice of activities is limited by health considerations, eg no inverted bondage, no breath control, no violent exercises, and so on. I limit myself to no more than two all-night clubbings per month, and as you see from my advert, I do need help when I shoot those big all-day exhibitions at Olympia and the Barbican.

All that leaves is tight snug bondage in tons of rubber, either yourself or your sub, loads of happy women looking after you, being able to approach any woman and chat her up 'cos she doesn't realise you're a DOM . . . lots more, but you get the picture. Additionally, I've found an all-night club where I can get myself knotted about once a month in my huge GUM suit inside 110 metres of rope and occasionally a big pvc packaging sheet. And take pix of fellow pervs enjoying themselves in myriad ways.

But there are rules for DOMs. never talk about the war. Never say "when I was your age". Never say "the country is going to the dogs"
Don't give advice unless asked. Never... well, just behave yourself.

Now, here's a new thread perhaps. I said "Being pervy stays with you" Yes, so I'm wondering if this suggests that perviness is not an acquired trait but a genetic one. At one time I was involved with pervish magazines etc and I got tired of people writing in to explain how they first got hooked on rubber, bondage, pvc, anything. All said it was because of an erotic rubber etc experience when young. Example: pretty young aunt visits wearing rubber raincoat and makes indelible impression on gaping youngster.
I say rubbish! All these idiots have read the same dreary old crap from whatsisname, Jung, Freud, Krafty Old Ebbing et al. There simply is no concrete evidence that this trait is acquired because experimental evidence is almost impossible to obtain. It's just an opinion, an untested hypothesis. Yes, the genetic idea is just as flimsy, no evidence, but is open to test.

So, my fellow pervs, who knows anything about this? Nature/nurture, genetics or rubbery aunts? Remember,I'm not claiming that the cause is genetic, I'm just suggesting it as a testable hypothesis.

Gosh! Isn't everyone well behaved or do we mods just have low standards? :-) I'm a bit disappointed not to see 'gloves off' being used yet :-(
